The whole pandemic experience has
been a tiresome journey for all of us.
However, the crisis has reinforced some
fundamental lessons and taught us new
ones. As author Alan Cohen asks in his
article, “Could one of the purposes of the
pandemic be to direct us to a life better than
the one we knew?” Maybe yes, as we can
use these learnings to create an enhanced
life for us, as we recover and move forward.
In this edition of Personal Excellence, we
have hand-picked a few articles that focus
on self-improvement, career growth, future
goals and so on.
With the Olympic games winding down,
how does the future look for so many of the
athletes we watched compete in Tokyo this
summer? The post-Olympic comedown is
when they have to figure out, what’s next?
Read the journey of former Olympic athlete,
John Morgan in his article, Going For Gold:
A Former Olympian’s Guide, where he talks
about his experiences of pivoting from one
phase of life to the next.
You have it all; a great career or business,
all the financial resources you need to
handle your expenses and desires, excellent
health, great relationships and happiness,
inner peace, and contentment – come on –
no one has everything. So, what’s missing
in your life? Tim Connor in his article,
What’s Missing In Your Life? puts forth an
important message that we should be taking
note of.
Authority in the voice sounds like something
of a mystery. We’ll know it when we hear it
but most people don’t seem to comprehend.
Authority in the voice, is both an art and
science. It can be cultivated. What goes
into an authoritative voice and how can
you develop it? Read Cynthia Zhai’s article,
Develop Your Authoritative Voice, for
more insights.
The pandemic seems to have brought out
the worst in many people who were—and, in
many cases, still are—dealing with fear of
the unknown. When people are fearful, they
often become so obsessed with what they
are feeling personally that they neglect to
recognize the feelings and needs of others.
One of those needs is feeling valued, and
nothing conveys value as much as being
thanked, says John Tschohl in his article,
The Immeasurable Power Of Gratitude.
In brief, the articles in this edition will
definitely help you on your path toward
personal and professional development. We
hope you enjoy reading all the articles and
get back to us with your valuable feedback.
Cheers!
